Profiteroles are an extremely versatile pastry made from pâte à choux, which is a light pastry with high moisture content. It is delicious as either a sweet or savory snack. I made them into mini cute savory sandwiches and also filled them ice cream and drizzled chocolate over them. Delicious finger-food appetizers and desserts!

Profiteroles only require 4 basic ingredients: water, butter, flour and eggs. This makes them super convenient to whip up in a pinch and can be stuffed with pretty much anything savory or sweet.


Profiteroles with vanilla ice cream are classic but I love mine with rum raisin. I love them topped with toasted almond slices for a nice nutty crunch.
